My son (21 months old)is getting service from southbay agency but I am not satisfied as all of them are inexperienced fresh graduates. I do have an option to switch to another agency called creative interventions but not sure if I will get any quality serivices there or not. I work in early childhood education and while we can’t diagnose we can screen and refer. I did our screenings on my daughter and with the results consulted for a screening and have been placed on a wait list. Unfortunately in our area the wait list is almost 2 years long. I am struggling to get support from those around us as it’s hard for them to believe she would have autism. My parents especially, I know it’s contributing to outdated views. Any advice?
Unfortunately there is a waitlist everywhere around here. It’s something we struggle with in our job as we often have to refer for further screenings. I know she has autism, I just find it hard… read more
He has 1 hour of speech , 1 hour OT And 3 hours of DI...So the doctor wants to add ABA therapy ! How to incorporate this and feeling very overwhelmed right now . I'm assuming a home based therapy. How much for this little guy and where and how to begin??

Our toddler has been diagnosed recently. We currently live in New York City, however, due to our job we may need to relocate to Northern/Central New Jersey or South Florida (Miami Metro). What area has the best early intervention program for toddlers? Also, we are considering getting another job to avoid moving from NYC, if it turns out NYC will be the best option for our child. Thank you very much for your suggestions.
Could you please shortly share you experience?
