Has anyone tried n-acetylcysteine for autism? I have read that these interventions may help and there is clearly some data in the literature supporting their use.

I know resperidone, but need to know others

My son's psychiatrist has suggested we try this for him (age 25). Normally I am skeptical of supplements but Dr. is fantastic, so why not?

He said to only get the PharmaNac from BioAdvantex because the dosages are individually sealed to maintain the effectiveness (decreases if they are exposed to air, so a big bottle is no good). So far, so good.

My 7 year old PDD-NOS love was recently diagnosised with Trichtotillomania, an anxiety disorder were you pull out your hair ( for him his eyelashes) Anyone have knowledge around this and can give extra advice. We have tried alternate "picking" distractions, but he always seems to go back.

I do "classroom" activities with my four-year-old son Devin and his little sister at the table that includes puzzles and coloring, ipad apps, colors, numbers, reading books, etc. I also try to incorporate functional activities, following directions activities, social activities, etc. But I'm always looking for new ideas to better help him and since it's the New Year I'm ramping up (hopefully) what I do with him at home. I have a group of friends who have been such great mom friends. But ever since Johns Diagnosis they seem to not be as helpful. They don’t quite understand the demands of therapy and ABA and the schedule juggling. They try to help but often I find them more annoying then helpful. They even try to talk to me about their Neurotypical kiddos problems at school and I try to help but also find myself getting annoyed at there problems as well. Does anyone else feel this way.
