Where Are Good Places For Therapy In Nashville, TN
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

I'm am looking to relocate to the Nashville "area." I'm probably going to end up in Dickson Co, but don't mind to drive into Nashville or Franklin for services. I'm looking for suggestions for medical care across the board. I'll need to set my son up with a new pediatrician, OT, SLP, and hopefully ABA. Any suggestions on where to get these services would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

New York City Vs Northern/Central New Jersey Vs Miami For The Best Early Intervention Program?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Our toddler has been diagnosed recently. We currently live in New York City, however, due to our job we may need to relocate to Northern/Central New Jersey or South Florida (Miami Metro). What area has the best early intervention program for toddlers? Also, we are considering getting another job to avoid moving from NYC, if it turns out NYC will be the best option for our child. Thank you very much for your suggestions.

Constantly Dumping Food
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My 4.5 year old son is extremely picky when it comes to food. He only eats a handful of things such as Goldfish(only the coloured ones) , chips, Froot Loops. He is constantly wanting to dump the bags out and eat off the floor. He finds creative ways to distract us just to do this. Sometimes he doesn’t even want to eat it, just wants to dump. Anyone else dealt with this or have insight into why? It is extremely frustrating for me, let alone the cost and food waste.

I relate to so many of these comments myself and so wish there was an easy fix. I have a dumper here too.. not just food, anything! For finger foods, you can try the toddler no spill snack containers… read more

Elementary Schools In Brooklyn
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

hello,
my son is 4 years old and on the spectrum. Im having a hard time finding an elementary school for him. He starts kindergarten in September and I feel like every school I call for open house never knows how to answer any questions about children with autism. They're very dismissive and I'm kind of getting discouraged. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!

A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My son attends Haugland. He started there in January and LOVES IT.

Anyone Know?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

We are desperately trying to figure out where to go to get help for our 4 year old non verbal asd son. We are currently in southern ky which (pardon language) sucks as far as resources, therapy are concerned. We are to the point of relocation. Any input to best state will be appreciated. He was accepted to a school in Florida called FACE in Tampa, but not sure about the area. We have also looked at Ohio.

Relocating here just to attend FACE would be dissapointing to you. Not saying it is not a good school, just not all that to relocate for. The whole school system here is in turmoil. Even charters like… read more

Social Skills Therapy
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

I don't know where to get social skills therapy. I moved to a town that has money and was supposed to have a good special ed department and it's awful. They just keep wanting to ship him off to residential. He issues with all of the changes we had during the pandemic and immediately after between schools and being forced to move by the old landlord because she was not a nice person. Lol she bought my apartment house and wanted us out so she could renovate and raise the rent. He had lived there… read more
