Any parents and kiddos in the Indiana area. I have nobody to relate to and feel like my world is crashing down. I need/want support as well as giving it and my saving grace needs some friend.
Hi! I am near the Indy area. I have a 10 year old daughter. Feel free to contact me, maybe our kids would like to hang out. I am pretty good at finding resources or just listening:)
We are going to Disneyland. Our 6 year old can sometimes be a runner so we're worried about losing him. Does anyone know of options? Some of the ones we've looked at online don't seem to work in crowded areas like malls, etc.
Shannon, thanks so much for the advice! How do we contact your uncle / preorder? I didn't see a link to do that. Thanks again! Chris
Has anyone gotten the Cubby Bed for their ASD/SPD children/adult?!?
What does it help with?!?
It took us many trials to find the right sleeping configuration for my daughter to actually sleep in her room and enjoy it. She used to sleep on the couch then on the floor in her room. We even tried… read more
So I'm not sure how to word this one but here goes nothing! I've approached multiple doctors for my 13 year old daughter who has asd and she says she hears voices that tell her to do bad things. I've had numerous doctors tell me this is normal for girls with asd, has anyone else experienced this???
Someone already suggested signing. Sometimes when my son gets overwhelmed and frustrated, we will do some simple signing and he seems to respond to it a little better. His frustrations usually come… read more
My son is 4. He is constantly moving. Climbing, reaching, snacking, jumping, wandering around… he cannot sit or stand still. Even if he watches tv, he is fidgeting. Are all ASD kids this hyper? He is constantly doing things he shouldn’t be doing. He understands, but does it anyway. I feel like I’m on constant watch
When I see him behave this way, I am positive he is severely ADHD. The doctor we saw last week was speechless. She was sympathetic, but offered no solutions. He ran into the middle… read more
Thanks so much! My son has been in ABA since last summer. It’s been great as they helped us with potty training and she’s so gentle and kind, but he’s been breezing through their goals

Hi, I have a son who is over 5 years old and has autism who is still in diapers
Over the past 3-4 months, he's been exhibiting some changes in behavior when it comes to diaper changes. It started with him refusing to acknowledge when he had pooped in his diaper. He wouldn't let me change it and instead would have a major meltdown. He wanted to keep it on and continue doing whatever he was doing. He would happily sit in his dirty diaper all day if I allowed it, as it didn't bother him at all.… read more
Thank you @A MyAutismTeam Member. It had been calm for a few days until yesterday. When I found him sitting in his room rocking back and forth on his bottom again after he'd pooped, I tried to handle… read more
We have a 10 year old son with ASD. He steals whatever he wants with no remorse. He has been doing this for years. He steals food, candy, money, toys from stores. I have to do a pocket check if I take him shopping with me. If you ask him if stealing is wrong, he says yes. Yet the behavior goes on. What should we do?
I’m in the same boat. My daughter is 12 and sneaks food regularly. We have to lock things up. So far she’s only tried to steal from the school once, but I’m worried she’ll be stealing from stores soon… read more
