Does anyone have any tips for potty training a non verbal toddler.

But she is gettimg too talk for the bath how can i transititon to showers for her

My daughter is 6 years old and has been recently diagnosed with Autism she still sucks her thumb which I don't mind at bedtime but she can do it through out the day in public and people pay attention to it.
Is this a normal sensory thing and do I ignore it and ask people to stop commenting hoping she will stop if it's not brought to her attention or do I try to stop her doing it by using a sensory chew toy?

My son has a finger nail lifting from the nail bed about half way up his nail. It is away from the skin but the top half is still connected. Anyone else ever experience this? Any suggestions?

It's like crack to him... he stashes them and will sleep with 2 or 3 of them to make sure he doesn't lose it in the middle of the night. He is SO sensory and this is the ONLY thing he can effectively use to self-regulate, especially away from home (car, restaurant, church, etc). He does not use it at school or during the days on weekends... his teeth are a mess! I'd like to ditch it by his fourth birthday in March :(

Does anyone else have an issue with an older child sucking their thumb? My daughter has level 1 autism and she will be 11 next month. She still sucks her thumb at night and it’s caused some issues with her teeth already. But the orthodontist said the first step is getting her to stop the thumb sucking. As most of you may have experienced, we have been dealing with sensory-seeking challenging behaviors for a very long time, they come and go and vary in topography. My autistic son will be 13 years old in May. He still sucks his thumb. I know that is how he soothes himself. Is it time to start working on stopping this habit or do I just let it go if it soothes him?
