My 3year old boy hates getting his teeth brushed. I’m trying to figure out what toothpastes he might like best
I saw this but didn’t know whether to get it. I will give it a go ☺️ Thank you.
Wondering what candies, toothpaste, gum...help a child who spits a lot. My son is experiencing "juicy mouth" so I am looking for a candy/toothpaste to tackle too much saliva. Any suggestions?
Thanks @A MyAutismTeam Member I will try this technique at home.
Does anyone have difficulty with tooth brushing? My kid doesn't like it in general but HATES toothpaste. Any toothpastes you can recommend?
cant tell you how big of an issue this is! when I found a toothpaste he liked instead of brushing he sucks it off the brush instead of brushing with it!
My Son at 16 is taller then I so I can't hold him down and brush. We put photos of decaying teeth on the mirror, tried spin brushes, the dentist lectured him, but we fear after we fix his teeth, if it keeps up he will begin losing them. 21 cavities will cost us $2000 after insurance...like we need another bill with all the doctors, meds and therapy.
Have you tried to "fun" rinses that are blue or pink? Maybe they can help.
My son is almost three and nonverbal. He has not ate solid foods since he was one and a half. He only drinks from a bottle just milk but I do mix yogurts in them when I can get him to drink it. He also drinks PediaSure. His iron levels are good and he is healthy no problem with weight loss, sleep well and is active. I'm currently on a waiting list to get a diagnosis. He is fearful of anything coming near his mouth he doesn't put toys in his mouth, but he also doesn't allow us to brush his teeth… read more

How can I get my 10 year old aspie son to shower & brush his teeth without melting down? The toothpaste, regardless of brand & flavor
Causes him gag and sometimes, vomit. The shower thing is beyond me..once he gets in..he sings along to his shower music (the beatles ) and he is fine. How do you do it? And I will sing your praises forever if anyone knows of a flavorless toothpaste or one that's NOT bubblemint, cinnamon, mint ect...he LOATHES cinnamon & anything mint.

Our pediatrician told us to keep using the non fluoride toothpaste until he spits. He sucks the toothpaste off and eats it. He will brush but will not spit. Also his breath is horrible. I don’t know what to do.
Spitting out is counter productive . Really getting more toothpaste in then out . Bad breath spray cover it . Try gum he may not eat that . Do it I front show him you can spit it out . He may like the… read more
My asd daughter, almost 3 now, hates brushing her teeth. She is very sensitive to textures and tastes. Any toothbrushes or toothpaste that worked well for any of you? And any methods for making brushing teeth less of a dreaded task?
It's OK. Don't give up. Set a routine. We persisted with my nephew and now at 8 he doesn't miss his toothbrush. He needs help but long gone those tantrum filled nights. Even NT have sensory with… read more
Use toddler toothpaste, which lacks fluoride.
Michael is 3 and it's a battle to get his teeth brushed. I'm sure I'm not doing a good enough job. He forces the brush out repeatedly and clamps his teeth down on it other times. It got better with an electric toothbrush, but still not great or easy. His Dr. recently recommended going back to a finger toothbrush. I got chewed on so badly I felt like I'd been attacked. Needless to say, I'm not going back in there like that again! Any suggestions would be appreciated!
electric toothbrush that plays music/ did Justin bieber for a grandchild// sugarfree gum can help get junk out of the back teeth, where they're less apt to put toothbrush
