Hi. I'm an AU teacher with a student who has a new habit (past 2 weeks) of holding his saliva in his mouth. He hovers over the garbage when we bring him to the garbage. I have tried to use reward items and activities he typically loves but he does not budge when it comes to this. I have read that this can affect children's teeth and after the child coughed last week, it went all over everything and everyone. I have contacted home but his guardian is lost and desperate to change the behavior.

find out if he's vitamin d deficient. my son did that for hours but 10 days of high amounts of vit d supplements reduced the behaviour substantially.
My son has this new habit of holding salvia in his mouth for periods of time! I was wondering have anyone else experienced this situation? And if so what did you do to resolve the situation?
my son did that for hours - like 15 hours at a time, and then we found found out he was severely vitamin d deficient. 10 days of high doses of vitamin d reduced the behaviour substantially.

My son just started something my wife is bringing him to for neurology for brain improvement. It's a six week therapy that is supposed to improve communication, behavior ect. If it does not work we will put him on medication to calm him down. Has anyone ever heard of this or used this treatment for autism? Thanks all for answering my question and your time. https://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa...

Does anyone recommend a certain multivitamin? I see a bunch of different vitamins that contains extra omega 3's, iron, etc. My daughter is a picky eater so i know she doesn't get all the nutrients she needs. She will only eat gummy vitamins. We have tried the flinstones kind but they seem a little bit too hard to chew. I will talk with her MD and see what he thinks but i thought i'd try here as well...thanks!
Thank you for the responses! I think i may give the Omega3 supplement a try. If she lets me give it to her.
There seems to be a correlation between low vitamin B levels and ASD. Doctors aren’t sure why that is or if it’s a question of a genetic component or they are not processing or retaining it properly. There are several B vitamins such as B12, B6, biotin, folate, etc. Has anyone had their child’s physician test them for this or mentioned it as being associated with ASD? TIA!
I'm autistic and I'm deficient in vitamins u never even heard of
