Handling Meltdowns and Autism

When a special needs child experiences a sensory meltdown, the child has no control over their behavior. A child may try to hurt themselves or their parent, while another child may yell or unknowingly destroy property. As a parent or caregiver, it's upsetting to see a child experience a meltdown along with the emotional impact felt afterward.
