My child is about to start school, he is 6 years now, diagnosed with Autism at the severe end. During the last 4 years we had an IBI/ABA at home and he was for a while in a Nursery school. He is non-verbal, but able to communicate with an iPad and pictures. A lot of sensory issues, but overall a very gentle and well behaved child, no big meltdowns, no aggressive behavior

We had a very bad experience last week with my son jumping up off the dentist chair after receiving nitrous oxide screaming "you have a needle!" We did not get the tooth out. Just wondering if anyone has had any luck using an anxiolytic like Xanax or Ativan in a similar situation. My son is 10 and large for his age so it's difficult to just restrain him physically.
I would not recommend using nitrous. For most of our kids, an abnormal methylation pathway prevents the typical metabolism of this drug. Agree with @assembingmysonspuzzles

We just moved to the 33810 zip code a few months ago,My husband and I don't have any family that we can trust with our son who is asd and trusting a daycare is out of the question. I am trying to find a night time job that starts at 7 pm so that we can make ends meet. Does anyone know of any jobs that start at that time or a legit work from home job?

I don't know what to do. should i home school my kid till i hear back from child fine. or just wait to hear back from them. this is the second time we have had an evaluation at the sumter county school district. we had one when he was 3 and now we had one when he was five ive been calling and going up to the school and no one is telling me anything about his paperwork we did. in march.
