I found this on the net and my instinct is telling me it's very promising. I wanted to try but it seems so expensive for us. I wanted to know if there are parents here who have tried and if it really works..
we hope to start soon. we are going to ask the grand parents to pay for it.
My 4 year old son was diagnosed with moderate to severe autism a few months ago. He is non verbal, and has many fine motor skill delays. He is in the special education preschool in the public school system. My worry is this: I am afraid that he is not getting the specific help he needs. At his teacher conference, his teacher told me that he might benefit from the special autism program in another city, but there is a good chance he won't be able to go next year, due to the wait list, but she is… read more

I contacted the sports camp leader to let them know that I wanted to talk ahead of time about medication and perhaps assigning him a "point of contact" person, and the camp told me they didn't think they could accommodate him. I was super… read more
I can understand the camp's concerns on this issue. I am hoping that you can come up with a solution so he can participate to some extent. You mentioned medications and there are several legalities… read more

My 2.5 year old son was recently diagnosed with High Functioning Autism by a Psychologist. The doctor said my son has a "complex combination of strengths and weaknesses." He has amazing cognitive abilities, but struggles with speech. He has a huge vocabulary, but uses a lot of jargon and his sentences aren't longer than three words. He has great eye contact, but is behind (or so I'm told) on social skills (i.e. taking turns, sharing) and has some sensory issues. While is isn't potty trained, he… read more
Modern ABA has come a LONG way from its roots. If the SLP's were trained 10-15+ years ago then they probably aren't familiar with what it looks like today. I don't think I would've wanted my DD to do… read more
