My son's teacher made him a laminated "All About Jake" book that helped him learn fun/important things. He learned his birthday/how old he was, his address, my first name, my husband's first name and… read more

My son has new updated IEP here in MA and I'm wondering if this wont change when we move to a different school.
The new school will have to abide by the current IEP however they are most likely going to want to do their own evaluation. They may or may not agree with what your other school has found and if they… read more

My daughter is almost 2 years old (born 3/26/13) she is a very sweet little girl, but has issues with speaking (she says 2 words, Mama and Dadda) When she gets frustrated or over stimulated she melts down horribly, to the point of inconsoable (she hand flaps with this as well) she is terrified of toys that make noise, she has a big lack of eye contact with people that she knows, and people she does… read more

My son is 18 and DSO is recommending immediate residential placement due to the fact that he is so difficult to handle. I'm in two minds about it. I need the break but i dont want to let him go for a few years yet. How do i come to terms with this idea and when is the right time to let go? There is a 'Try it on for size' program that i want him in instead. He would live in a group home 2 to 3 nights a week and they teach him how to live outside the home. But there is a waitlist. I only have 1 child receiving ABA and she does a mix of center, home, and community outings sessions. In your situation with multiple kids, I would look for a center.
