Austin when asked not to do something would bang his head in the floor, walls anything that hurt. If i tried to stop him he would find somewhere else to do it. He stopped doing this for a good six months but has started doing it again. He doesnt communicate well but understands a lot. Could this be a tantrum ? Or frustration from non communication ? Or both ?
u could also try a sticker chart as autistic children are visual if he gets his stickers he gets praise and a reward for no smacking etc
Thank you but i do believe we've pinned it down to be anxiety. I really appreciate your feedback though
Isaac has always been a picky eater, but never had a problem getting him to eat. For about 4 or 5 days now we have struggled to get him to eat. He literally nibbles a bite or two and asks to be excused. He's a skinny bean to begin with at 39lbs at almost 6 yo. At what point should I worry? Ive seen him go a day maybe two just nibbling, but never this long. And hes not asking for food between meals either..... I'm at a loss!
I give my son breakfast essentials mixed with vanilla almond milk. Hes very picky and not a great eater and the meds he takes dont help with that either. Some friends of mine give their kids ensure… read more

My son and I have a nice life and home together. The family services agency has attacked us and has plans to covet my custody of my son. I have done nothing, I have led a respectable life. I am in grad school right now and am almost done, at which time I have had plans to move to Columbus, Ohio, and get a good job. This issue makes it impossible to leave this (Allen) county. It is like I am in China all of a sudden, not permitted to leave! They take away my right to privacy at home as well. We… read more
Talk with your doctor too. If your therapists are on your side, it cant hurt. Also, check out disability advocates in your area.
I'm trying to get aba services for my son but everywhere I go they don't take my insurance so I would be a pay out of pocket but I don't have funds to pay but he and I desperately need help
Did you contact Alexian Brothers? I was told that they sometimes still offer the parent training grants when they have the funds.
He is not interested in playing with other toys and will try to spin everything, even a book. He will not let me read to him. However he will let me sing to him and rock him. His parents let him spin glass pot lids and bowls, but I take everything "spinnable" away and try to get him to learn how to do normal things. It's not going well because he's not happy or content and becomes belligerent and "sassy" (in his own way). I wonder if he's this way because the first two and a half months his… read more

We heard about a feeding clinic in Arnold Palmer hospital. In order to start with the program they require many procedures like an endoscopy and we are scared about it.
