His behaviorist said that his OT is the only staff in the school who can implement his sensory diet. She is only twice a week in the school. Can his OT trained his especial ed teacher and his one on one aide/aides in his classroom? We have a kid that not only is in the spectrum but have ADHD, poor functional communication skills, he needs frequent movement, classroom size is too small, i requested a sensory diet as part of his IEP and the answer was that only OT is allow to implement it.

My son loses focus a lot. What can I do to help him. And what are you guys thoughts on giving your kid medication too help them focus and listen
I usually would let my son look at me first, eye contact is important and then use a calm voice, making sure he can hear me and then give him a chance to respond being patient for his response.
I just started using essential oils on my son and noticed a big difference in his attitude and the way he is able to focus now....I was wondering if anybody else has used them

Just wanted to know if anyone has used a weighted blanket for their child. I think Makayla would really benefit from one. They are expensive, but i may ask my mom and dad if they would go in on one with me.

When confronted with the least problem he gets defensive and some times out of control.I turn to comforting him until he is past the anger.The comfort comes when he has really gotten out of control.

I'm trying to transfer my daughter from NJ Public School District to Philadelphia, since Philadelphia's Public School District doesn't have good references. I would like to enroll my daughter into a private school, where she can continue receiving her current services and good quality treatment. I was told that I can't do that unless I have a lawsuit against the PA Public School and/or a lawyer.
