My daughter is 18 quickly approaching 19. We are still seeing her pediatric neurodevelopmentalist and he has said there is no rush for her to move on but I do think we need to start looking. I have not heard of anyone in my area who specializes in adults with ASD. Do professionals in this area even exist?

I heard Dr. Sella speak about her work with Adults with autism. I would look into it. She is very well known for her excellent work.
We are having the same problem with our son who is 21. His pediatrician will see him till he is 22, which is soon approaching. We cannot find a GP who specializes in adults with autism.
@A MyAutismTeam Member please let me know how things go for you. Hopefully
they can help your daughter.
@A MyAutismTeam Member, thank you for the information. I will check into it. This is the first real lead I have received from anyone! Thanks again.
Well, got the official word this last visit. We must find a new doctor before our daughter turns 21. The kicker, I asked if he had any suggestions or could refer us to another doctor and his reply, "I will have to look into that". If that doesn't say it all about the existance of doctors who specialize in the care of adults with ASD I don't know what does. UUGH, I am so frustrated right now!!!!! Any new advice out there?
