Reluctant household really, but especially my six year old ASD son. I feel I need someone to come over and help me make a plan on how to introduce meals. I read the web sites everyone sends me to, but none of it addresses what do you do if you have a stubborn child that would rather not eat then try new foods and not get the foods he is used to eating. It's a big group - you may be able to find a mentor there.
I am from the Berkshires, (other coast!), but I have done this with my own son. We tried only changing one thing at a time, starting with bread, and it went ok. I gave him plenty of notice of what I was doing, had him involved in every step from the start, and that helped a lot. We come from a food oriented family so everyone was involved in helping with this. I also found it helpful to be involved in some cooking classes. Warren took over some of them himself and is doing better with trying new things on his own.
