Request that the school do an assistive technology assessment and suggest that it would help him in school. We just did this with our son a couple months ago and the school purchased a digital recorder pen system for him to record all of the notes he takes at school. My daughter has assistive technology written into her IEP and the school provides an ipad for her in the classroom.
check out Aps for children with special needs. "a4cwsn.com".
Anyone on the IEP team can request an assessment and as his parent, you are a member of that team. So, they can't deny it. When I know one of my children will benefit from a service that they aren't already receiving I always pose the question in an email to their teacher, "What do I need to do for the school to perform a ... assessment?" I don't give any defense of why I think it's needed unless they ask. So far, we've never been denied an assessment or a service.

Thank you so much , can they deny the request for the assistive technology assessment ?
