Stimming...the short answer is: Stimulation. The child is stimulating themselves with repetitive behavior.
Torbudsd: Repeating shows to themselves is called: scripting...as in.... reading a script...over and over.
ABA therapy helps with both of these issues. :)

Scripting is common in children with Autism. But having you're daughter evaluated is the only way to be certain. Some siblings of children with autism often learn behaviors that they have witnessed being utilized by their autistic siblings. In other words, she could simply be repeating a behavior that she has seen your son do. It is very common for younger siblings to want to mirror older siblings' behaviors because they idolize them.
Is scripting also a characteristic in the autism spectrum also? Why I ask is my son(20) has autism along with other things, but now my daughter who is 6 has been displaying OCD characteristics and also scripting all the time. Just curious.
