I forgot to add on my last question ,does any children getting home school receive speech therapy. My son gets it now in school.I'm considering home school.
Yes your child is still entitled to speech therapy. You will have to transport him to your zoned school for services.
If there is a virtual charter in your area you can get IEP services through them because they are technically considered public schools. Otherwise it depends on your district. My district will evaluate homeschooled children but will only provide services to students enrolled in one of the district schools.
Not for my Autistic son. But my "normal" son had a stuttering problem while we were homeschooling. I found out that you can actually get services from the school district even if your child does not attend full days. We registered him at the school. Got the speech eval... then took him there for speech services ONLY while he was being homeschooled. I don't know if all schools are required to do that or if my school district is just more generous.
Also, there's private speech therapists available. Just search for them on the internet for your area. Make sure you check to see what insurance they accept because private speech is expensive.
