Check out my site. Check out the book Healing and Preventing Autism. Another thing to check out is whether or not you have a gluten and or dairy sensitivity with a blood test from a naturopath doctor (IgE and IgG). Consider holding off on vaccinations and working to build a strong immune system for you and your new child. Avoid GMOs. Have excellent omega 3 and 6 oils. (They make DHEA oils in our system which are essential for vision and brain development.)
I have 4 children and one on the way...my son is the only one on the spectrum (severe). My girls are all typical developing :) I expecting a boy due in April and think about the possibility that he may be on the spectrum but i say bring it on ;) my son has done more then inspire me and open my heart to new and better things :)
Unfortunately the odds are high and also depends on the sex of the next child. For most, autism isn't genetics; however there may be genetic susceptibility as well as epigenetic changes that can be inherited. One study last year showed that if mother had three auto antibodies (and 20% of the mothers in that study did), there is a 100% chance the child will have autism if male. No commercial test available for that yet, so it is just a guess at the moment. 30% sounds right.
I have 2 out of 3 but a good friend has just 1 out of 3. So it is really hard to know. The Dr.s will give you percentages but it's just an educated guess only time will tell.
It is hard to tell, I have two children with ASD and I know of others that have one out of four or people that have four out of five. Since they cannot determine the cause or the genetics it is just a chance you take
