I am receiving an ihss home visit here in San Diego. Wait does it entail? It is during his ABA time
If I remember right they ask a few questions to assessment and see how many hours you qualify for.be sure that if your child is runner with no awareness of danger you ask that they assess for protective supervision...that's where you get the max hours..I am fighting for that now too
In home support services
Ihss gave me 13.13 when he was 4, now he's 5 I get a whole 35 hours a month
Tommy is an eloper, I have 5 locks and 1 alarm on the doors that exit the home, he's a jumper, jumps off furniture stairs etc.. He needs help dressing, pees in the toilet, but poops on the floor?!
@A MyAutismTeam Member. A porter is someone who Carries (sorry) heavy loads. How about a name with "Backpack"in it? You just got me thinking. Thanks for the compliment.)
The SDRC will give you information about advocacy. There is an organization called TASK that has advocates. You must fill out paperwork and become a member, I believe. Ask your case manager.
My son is on the autism spectrum. How much is he affected? It's all relative isn't it? He is not diploma-bound. He learns at a slower pace. He needs much more coaching to understand things. He will always choose the easy way out. He tends to prefer routine, rules and repetition. He doesn't have very many deep friendships, but he's happy most of the time. The "about my child" section might give you more insight.
Hi Caroler,
Yes we are with SDRC. Do they offer or can they offer advocacy support etc? Or does it really only depend on your case manager?
(I need to come up with a new user name. "Caroler" is cute.)
May I ask the type of disability and/or the extent of such your child has been diagnosed with?
Kindest regards,
Carrie
