My non verbal 19 year old son has 4 impacted wisdom teeth. He is having surgery in 10 days. He is having a lot of on and off again pain. Anyone else have these issues? I think the stress and anxiety of the pain and discomfort is getting to him too. He is normally so hap l y and laid back and this past week he is so agitated and aggressive!!
We had the same issue. My so had his pulled two days ago. He was obsessed with getting scissors to cut out the sutures. I asked our oral surgeon to help us keep him calm during recovery. 1. Stay ahead of the pain...give pain medication every 4 hours. 2. Our Dr prescribed Xanax (low dose) in conjunction with pain medication it has kept him calm. 3. Distraction.
Our issue is our son refuses anything but water. It has been 2 1/2 days and he will not take anything.
I am dealing with this right now and would like some information from others that have already been through it...he had them pulled yesterday, was asleep and did fine until today, now he is very angry, crying, stomping his feed. I know it is the pain but don't know what to do...I am afraid he is going to hurt himself worse.
Hello, my son was 21 when he had all 4 wisdom teeth removed. Liquid Tylenol May help to alleviate pain until surgery.
Even for a child that is verbal it is very painful. Does he like popsicles? That can ease the inflammation and ease the pain for awhile. There are so many kinds out there..sugar free, organic, fruit based etc.
