I am wondering when Georgia medicaid must start covering ABA therapy. Does anyone know if there is a medicaid waiver in Georgia that will allow a child with autism to receive ABA therapy?
The Feds recently ordered California to cover ABA as part of Medicaid so they may do the same in other states soon. http://www.npr.org/blogs/health/2014/08/26/3432...
No, the Medicaid waiver in Georgia doesn't pay for any ABA. Even with the waiver we got ST and OT covered but only 3 hours/week which seems pretty bad compared to most states. Lot of states don't offer Medicaid for ABA so Georgia won't pay for it until a rainbow comes out of my butt.
I am from Kansas. I have not found any providers for ABA near me. the closest one is a 3 hour drive. I haven't heard of anything.
