Does "child Find" Program In Schools Work?

I know all teachers are legally bound, by the child find act to identify and find children with disabilities, however I am wondering how often, realistically, this happens. After working part time in schools this year. I am realizing that some schools are a baby sitting place or more like a factory then a learning environment, sadly. A cynic like me only gets more cynical the more I see how autistic kids go through the system. The teachers and therapists have to deal with a lot of kids so we see ourselves as the primary educators. I try to use any teachable moment I can to get an idea across. Both of my parents were teachers and my wife's (she taught in at a college) mom was a teacher as well.

My daughter tends to tune out and doesn't play with other kids so I have do things when she's paying attention.
