New To This - Seeking Advice
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My 7 year old daughter was diagnosed yesterday with ASD. She matches up more with the Aspergers diagnosis that no longer exists. Just seeking advice from those who have been down this path to share your wisdom in what you believed to be critical "next steps" for you and your child after initial diagnosis. Thanks!

Wow! Thank you. This is amazing advice and reading through some hits home already, especially the part about questioning myself and my parenting styles. My daughter has significantly more issues at school than home where she is practically an only child (sibling is 17) and more of a third parent figure. I now see how we have trained ourselves to completely avoid her triggers to avoid meltdowns, but in the end has made it more difficult for her to face because the world around her doesn't avoid them. Thank you so much for this insight. I will truly take it to heart.
