we have a high functioning son, going to ninth grade next year. we are in southern NJ and he is already in the alternative classroom as he cannot handle the regular classroom, too much stimulation. he can do the academics, just not the way a typical teacher lectures
Anyway, we have a really good idea of what he will NOT get nor grow in the high school setting especially in the self contained class room...so thinking about pushing for out of district placement for next year. He case manager had… read more

Please check out the Bankbridge school district. They have the development center a elementary school and high school. Its in Sewell nj. They are awesome

Well I don't have an answer but I'm also in south jersey and am currently unhappy with my 8 yr olds public school so my first choice right now is Yale ( voorhees)... I work in a school and that was the first place some of the autism teachers suggested.... Also the first place my sons social group therapists recommended.... I will be setting up a visit soon!
