Does This Site Support Autism Speaks?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Autism speaks puts their donated funds into researching how to eradicate autism. Not something I will ever support. Can anyone tell me if this website is affiliated with them??

This website tends to have a wide range of opinions and information. It's not dominated by one school of thought or group which I find refreshing. Too many websites out there with an agenda and shutting out differing views. Too much effort into silencing people they don't like rather than listening to ideas which may have some merit.

Down Syndrome isn't eradicated either despite the testing. We would have continued pregnancy regardless of Down's, ASD, or whatever else.

Early detection so that mums can abort. Same as down syndrome. That's eradication

I don't believe so. I could be wrong, but I believe the Autism Speak research mandate is to prevent and early identification, as well as research into potential treatments, not eradicate.
