Why Would A Doctor Get Upset About A Negative Social Media Rating?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

An acting Chief of Staff at Larabida Children's Hospital called our house on Monday. He and 2 other doctors we dismissed got together and decided to call the house while I was not there and try and intimidate my daughter into finding another medical facility to go to. It appears that the doctor along with two others we have dismissed at Larabida Children's Hospital became very upset that our family gave them horrible ratings on Healthgrades.com and Facebook as well as Instagram. My twin… read more

Good for you! You should always trust your instincts when it comes to your child/ grandchild! I feel like them contacting you in that way is unethical.

Just an update....we are now at another facility that was suggested to us. The other parents and administrators that we spoke with felt that in the best interest of the twins, it was not necessary to waste a lot of time going through all of that when there were two spots open for them at another facility and we have been there since December of last year and it is great.
But in answer to your question about our family bad mouthing the doctors, if the truth is bad mouthing, then YES. I wrote down word for word every detail of what was done. I watched the doctors closely each time the twins had an appointment with any doctor at Larabida. I watched their behavior, their bedside manner, their ability to keep up with the latest issues involving autism or any other special needs and their lack of knowledge when asked specific questions. If I am the grandmother doing research and I know more than you when I arrive with my granddaughters, why do I need you if your only response is "I was not aware that there were those type of test, this type of place or this type of procedure".
When our family would get that perplexed look from some doctors at Larabida, it was upsetting because I have always treated the twins autism disorder as a research assignment that my life depended on. I expect others to feel the same way and when they do not, I don't want them taking care of the twins. We are good right now.

Did you give the doctors the negative feedback to their faces or just bad mouth them on Facebook and other websites?

@all-the doctors were told that they are not able to dismiss the twins and their mother as easily as they thought. According to the board of directors a hearing or meeting has not been done and they were premature in making this decision without consulting anyone including the family.
