A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My 18 yr old receives survivors benefits from social security. He is 11th grade. They stop at 19 years unless disabled. He has aspergers and developmental delay, IQ 82. He currently getting vocational services through vocational rehab at school but hasn't gotten interviews. What are the chances his survivors benefits could be extended based on his Aspergers. My son started receiving survivors benefits at 15 years of age. When he turned 18 years old.
SSI required medical evaluation from psychologist for continuance.

Do you have a disability self-advocacy group in your area? They usually hold workshops on applying for SSI and may offer individual assistance as well. Good luck!
