Our service coordinator from our insurance company asked if I had check out respite. Having no clue what that is I said no and I forgot to ask her about it. Anyone know what it is?
Easter Seals in your area . In Massachusetts itis Life Links that provides respite
When Ithink of respite I think of what I had through my State's insurance. It's Personal Care Attendant program. A Nurse Coordinator came to the house and asked a series of questions, while my child was there, mostly about his self help abilities, etc.
I ended up receiving 29 hours of help per week.it was wonderful!
Good luck!
Most states have a #Department of Services for People with Disabilities (DSPD), they offer different services. There are available Services, just be aware some states have a waiting list for these services so be sure and apply asap.
Are you serious? I had no clue there where services out there like that. As a single mom you bet I will check into it & will share our experience. All I know is that Easter Seals offers this service. Thanks for your responses!
Respite is to give parents a break but I'm not sure how long they can stay there. Please find out more about it and use it if you can get up. I never had it and I would take it if it had been offered.
