My son is aging out of Early Intervention, so we went to see our town's special needs preschool today. I found the inclusive room to be chaotic and unorganized, and the self-contained room seemed too restrictive and strict for my son's needs. Because they can technically "meet our needs," I am not sure what I can do in this situation - and if there is anything to do. I know in Massachusetts if the school says they can "meet your needs" then you don't have much of a choice, but you can volunteer to be sure they do "meet his needs". Be visible and vocal. The advocate for your son has to emerge.
Does he get ABA? If so you could send the TSS with him to school everyday.
