The hearing test they did for Brandon's- who is non verbal, considered severe. Was done in a hearing booth, everything was accomplished with lights, and movement. It was fairly easy. I am sure if you ask your pediatrician they will be able to refer you, good luck.

It is difficult to get a good hearing test done on a nonverbal kid. There is a way to do a non-sedated ABR but your child will need to stay still for a long period of time and not want to pull off all the probes. Alternatively, you will need to find someone who can "behaviorally" test him. We had an audiologist do this, over several weeks. The other option is a sedated ABR. The testing could last an hour but you will know just what your son hears.

Get him re tested if you are unsure. Most ASD kids have selective hearing, a lot appear or seem to be deaf, it is all part of their Autism.
