My son knows he has some problems. He was moved to a school that has a BD program. He wants to get better. He wants his brain to be normal. He feels alone a lot and needs to know he's not the only kid going through this. Are there any DVDs out there for him to watch to help him?
A couple of guys out of Seattle call themselves "Asperger Experts" and they have lots of great information that I wished I had when my son was your age. They have a few videos out that were very helpful! their names are Danny and Hayden both of which have Asperger's and are trying to explain to parents how it feels and how to break the defense mode cycle. Www.aspergerexperts.com I went to their conference in seattle last spring and it was incredibly helpful. I think they have another one coming up this spring. Be worth going, they had quite a few q&a sessions too during the weekend. Plus I got to see seattle!
Wow you seen them in person! That's great!! I wish I could afford it. Maybe if they go on tour one day and come to west Virginia lol
Yes he's 21 now, but I wish I had this kind of information when he was younger, especially in high school. I am glad you're finding them early in your son's life. I've met these guys in person and they so want to help!! If you can afford it, its worth going to see their workshop in Seattle.
OK wow! Thank you so much for informing me about those guys! This is exactly what I've wanted to read about or hear from a doctor but its even better hearing it from two men that actually have live their lives with aspergers. Im ordering the rest of the videos for 20 bucks. I can't wait to watch more! Again thank you so much!! Do you have a child with aspergers?
Let me know what you think
