@A MyAutismTeam Member We're on SSI. It was relatively painless (and quick, which was surprising). I printed off all the forms, took them to his therapist and pediatrician and psychologist to fill out and fax in, and had it within six weeks.

We have it for both children and it was not all that difficult. You have to be prepared and have all your documentation ready. You need medical documentation, evaluations and financial documentation as well. Don't go in with just a diagnosis it is not enough. Also if the doctors and therapists are willing to write letters describing your child's condition and needs it will go a long way.
