Thanks for your reply Christine and Facetious.
My son is doing good with academics and other activities like drawing pictures and doing puzzles, but he is not really good with socialized communication,no conversational skills, cannot reply to questions accurately.Except in area of language and socialization, I feel he does not have any problems.
Any way he is enrolled into kindergarten for the fall, general education time for him is around 2.5 hours daily remaining day he will be mostly on language and socialization,a little time on art, music,pe etc, based on his strengths.
Our son is attending mainstream JK classroom full day which is about 6 hours so. He was doing half day (3 hours) before that as he had 1-on-1 therapy after school for a few days. He is fully conversational but I believe needs to work / improve social skills. It is really up to you on how much time you want him to spend in typical class versus therapy or something other programs.
Hello Christine,my son is going to start his kindergarten this fall,we had an IEP meeting yesterday.I just wanted to know the average general education time with typical peers in a classroom for a high functioning autistic kid.
