Hi guys,

I was just wondering how old your little ones were when they started talking in sentences and more conversational rather than just requesting?

At the moment my 4 year old can say " I want (noun) " ( mostly foods haha) "It is (noun or verb) and label things, know his colours ( aussie spelling haha), can count to 10 most times etc, so just basic things but not really any conversation.

Yes^^^^ More than Words book is excellent.
just lots of speech therapy! LOL we do it at home, at school, and at therapy. My son started speech therapy at 2.5. He also had words and lost them. when we went gluten free dairy free in October, his speech just boomed after 2 weeks of the diet. Now my son just turned 4 and is not having some actual conversations. but mostly short sentences like you describe. I model for him short sentences and use short direct speech. I reward him A LOT for using words properly. He told his first joke this weekend!
