A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

What are they exactly and is it worth it to join? Have they helped you or your child?

The different Regional Center offices in California each have their own policies and cover different things. But in my opinion it's always useful to become a Regional Center client if your child qualifies.

I agree it is always good to contact them and enroll because they can assist you letting you know what services are available and how to get them. Some of them will send you updates on programs coming up in your area that would benefit your children. They also often have teams that can do an independent evaluation so you don't have to trust what the school has come up with as well.

Regional center helps get your child the services/therapies that they need and possibly even their official diagnosis. I recommend contacting your local regional center and setting up an evaluation through them.

We are client with regional center. The have copayment assistance. And they help with IEP'S and such. They are a huge help to us. Some offer classes for parents and group things for the children.
