How To Manage Anger & Frustration During Play With Cousin.
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My 6yo GS (ASD/ADHD) loves his slightly younger cousin & they get on very well generally. However, GS1 gets very angry quickly when GS2 gets sick of doing or playing particular game and wants to move on to something else
Have tried setting rules before play, setting time limits, to no avail. When cousin wants to opt out GS1 will yell, abuse etc and it tends to happen each time they are together. (Younger GS seems to take it in his stride!)
Any suggestions would be gratefully received. Thankyou… read more

It should be self-correcting situation if the cousin gets tired of the bossy behavior but kids can tolerate different levels of crap from their peers. He will run out of friends if he keeps it up.

My 5 year-old ASD daughter doesn't play with other kids but she does enjoy wrestling her 4 year-old brother and sitting on him. They do interact so I let a lot of stuff slide as I want them to bound. She's going to need his help in the future if she doesn't become that independent. My son doesn't think his sister is different just naughty.
