We have been getting private… read more

Hi Manish, @A MyAutismTeam Member

In order to narrow options, in your shoes, I would go by :
1. Climate preference, 2. Services 3. Cost of living 4. Areas where one can find more community support.
Please check out FB groups, (Desi special needs spot, GH etc.) In all big cities of US, you will find special needs desi portals / groups where you can ask this query & get more in depth info.

I'm in San Diego where there are good services in specific counties and school districts. Not all. You need to get into specifics for decision making.

Good luck.

Wherever you go, you will likely have to push to get services you feel your child needs. I have found no government organization so far that has said to me "here, let us give you all the services your son deserves and needs" but if you talk with people, if you research your rights and the laws, you will find services. My top three state picks would be NJ, NY, and CA.

While therapy options will obviously be a big part of your decision, it might be helpful to identify some other preferences first (climate, city size, demographics, etc) to narrow your choices down to a few locations and then do some more in depth research on those specific locations. Good luck!
