Hemp Oil
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone use hemp oil or cannabis oil to treat autism? I think this would be an effective treatment. I am looking for lots of details. Please share dosages and results.

We use it. Everyone in my family takes it. It has helped with my anxiety and my mother is off her anti-depressants in favor of using hemp oil. My older “normal” son seems subtly calmer when he takes it. Or more accurately, I definitely notice when he doesn’t take it. As for my son (speech and behavior problems)...I’m not sure. It could be helping but if it is, it’s subtle. I feel like since it’s helping the rest of us, it must be helping him...right? Lol I think again, I notice more when he didn’t take it than when he did. For example: Usually he’s ok in church. Acts like a kid, but is tolerable. Yesterday he was very annoying in church. He just wouldn’t sit still, he kept whispering, not insane..but just irking me. I didn’t know if it was me being overly sensitive, or if he was just extra naughty that day. When we got home I saw his vitamins (including the hemp oil) sitting on the counter from the morning. Was that the problem? I think it could have been, but can’t be sure. I think I take the benefit for granted, because its subtle. It’s not a cure-all, but I believe in the benefits. We buy Charlotte’s Web Everyday Advanced in 100ml bottles. It’s expensive, but it’s the best concentration of CBD for the price. We all take about 0.5ml everyday. For the kids I use a syringe and put it in an empty “1” capsule. I think sub-lingually would be better, but the kids won’t take it that way. That’s my 2 cents! Hope it helps.

Thanks Ricker1111...We've tried all kinds of therapies and had a lot of successes together with medication and nutritional therapies. Thank you so much for the links. I will have my son tested for his nutritional deficiencies. I've been trying out the hemp oil myself just to see how it improves my health and I've had positive results. When people tell me hemp oil is not good for anyone and don't have any research to back it up, I cannot use their advice because there are volumes of scientific studies and research to back up hemp oil and cannabis. I've researched autism for over 8 years and spent thousands of hours on it and tens of thousands of dollars out of pocket to find good therapies and much of it has worked. Hemp oil is legal in all 50 states so if I did give it to my son, it would be in conjunction with doctor recommended advice and together with other nutritional therapies. I'm just exploring and trying to find out if others use it successfully.

Keep away from this stuff. It is not good for anyone. My best advise is to you ask your Doctor what he thinks of the ideal.
