My daughter is 6 and she seems to require a bare minimum of 2 hours of exercise per day, but does best with 4 hours or more. I'm autistic too and I love activity, but I have back problems due to a herniated disk in my lumbar spine so I can only do so much before my back starts to really hurt. Any suggestions? Oh, we also have a trampoline and a pool, both of which she uses, but it never seems to be enough.
Hi!
Maybe you could try dancing and bicycling in front of a videogame.

@A MyAutismTeam Member I appreciate the clarification. I suppose it's just one of those things that makes my daughter who she is as a person.
@fox 13, interesting my wife is an RN as well. My post wasn't meant to condescending as your kid is highly unusual in the level (4 times as much) of physical activity even among ASD kids. I had to look up some facts just to see the difference from the norm. Parents can exaggerate or not be clear here but you actually measured her physical activity so that's more descriptive.
My daughter is 8 and she has some energy but it it's not directed. She lags behind when hiking.
Yes, she already went through OT and met all of her goals. She does sensory seek, but that is through spinning, which she does a lot and listening to music loud, sucking on things, etc. Her energy needs are just a facet of who she is as a person.
Have you already consulted an occupational therapist? One might have some suggestions on why this is happening. My guess she's trying to meet some sensory needs, but I'm not an expert.
