Has anyone who has a teenager and who is on meds for depression and anxiety op-ed to get them vaccinated for covid? Wondering if any issues and which one your child received. With cases raising and school starting soon, we're trying to decide what the best choice would be vaccinate or not vaccinate. His mom is concerned of side effects, his autism and his meds.
My 13 yr old granddaughter got her first Pfizer shot the day after it was approved for use. She had her 3rd (Booster) last week. No side effects from any of the three shots she received. She takes several meds and is immune compromised. Getting sick with the virus would put her in the hospital. Her sister also had the two Pfizer shots and no side effects. Hope you can convince Mom to have him vaccinated.
G is a teen on anxiety meds. He also struggles with an undiagnosed neurological problem which made me hesitant about the vaccine. He opted to go ahead and get the pfizer. He had no problems other than the usual soreness and fatigue the next day.
Do your research. From what I understand, only the Pfizer is approved for those between the ages of 12-17. I took that one, and aside from having a definite immune response to both injections there have been no side effects as of yet. Your physician or pharmacist should be able to inform you of known drug interactions that may contradict getting the vaccine.
I'm 38, but am autistic and also take a few medications. I had the Moderna vaccine series, and was happy to report I had absolutely NO side effects! The site of the injection was SLIGHTLY sore afterwards, but it felt no worse than an old bruise, and only lasted a day or so.
