I've heard mixed things about ABA therapy and I don't really love the idea of it. Generally, I've heard more bad than good. Any experiences where it really worked well for a kid who generally responds well to cues, is verbal, and does function in school with some supports. My kid is Level 1 ASD, and the clinic where he was diagnosed didn't recommend ASD, but his pyschiatrist has recommended it and is pushing us to do it. My 11-year-old daughter has done ABA therapy for about 4 years. She is verbal and she's in a special ed class. It has helped her a lot and she wouldn't be doing anything else anyway. She looks at a smartphone for hours so I'd rather have her interact with a human being. You can try it out and drop it if it doesn't work for your son. I always wonder why people won't try some approach that has been tested for decades.
