My son has had an IEP that calls for being in a secluded classroom 90% of the day since first grade. When he transitioned to Middle School I was told he has to go into a regular classroom where they switch classrooms. He got no help in each class that has 30 children and failed with a 20% in each class. They changed his IEP to accommodate the school. Take it above their heads, go to your state department of education and speak with the special education coordinator. They do not have a choice but to follow his IEP properly, as long as it doesn’t “cause a major inconvenience to the school environment” (or something along those lines), which obviously, it wouldn’t. There are special education advocates in each state that can help as well. Pull out that special education rights paper that they give you at IEP meetings, and present it to them when you have your army behind you. Hugs ❤️❤️🫶🏻🫶🏻
