It’s hard to say what our kids get out of the things are obsessed with it might just really comfort him and help him feel regulated in ways we don’t understand so I don’t know if there’s anything really wrong with letting him have the time with electronics and maybe you could work with ABA therapist towards helping him trade it out for other activities until you discover some preferred activities but he’ll always know that he’s going to get it back. To eliminate some of the separation anxiety. work in small increments you do this for 2 minutes you get the electronic back for 3 minutes help him feel safe without it and discover his capabilities. do it slowly because habits are hard to break for any of us and try not to judge by the standards of other neurotypical kids where we want a limit their screen time so they won’t get lazy about other things they are neglecting. Our spectrum kids can’t access friendships and ease of communication and comfort in their surroundings So you can’t just take something away without helping them find a substitute.

Hi! My name is Marlyn and my daughter Mia who's 4 years old is also addicted to devices especially the TV ( Muppet babies tv show ) bc of her diagnosis she likes repetible things and routines. I get it and I know how hard it is to find anything to keep them busy 😅 IDK , if this will help but we noticed Mia can ignore any devices by keeping her busy not all the time but it works. We have her in swimming lessons the feeling of the water, she loves jumping we take her where they have trampolines ( sky zone ) swinging we do parks or any sensory stimulation activity. Have you tried those backyard trampolines you can create activities inside of it .

Shes not aggressive but bc she’s non verbal she tends to get aggressive. Still working progress 😅😭😊 hope this helps
