A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hey All, I have a question about ABA. Does anyone's clinic have their kids BT's change on a 3-6 month basis? I'm finding this a little odd and just wanted opinions from other parents

My son has had the same BT for 4 years, who comes into our home. Oftentimes, these clinics will place different people in our children's lives, which I believe is harmful. My children have a hard… read more

Is It Possible To Have A HFA/AS Kid Who Tends To Elope/bolt/wander Be Mainstreamed In A Program Like Awana Or Sunday School?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Invitation to brainstorm with me about my 8 year old at Awana. The issue is that she impulsively wanders away from the group without asking or explaining where she is going. Three major reasons seem to be 1-she wants to get a drink, 2-she wants to use the restroom 3-she is upset (sensory overload or problems handling the unexpected).

Our current solution is that her dad and I alternate weeks staying near Charlotte throughout the evening. I'd like for us to both be able to attend the… read more

How Do You Deal With Separation Anxiety?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My daughter is 3 years old and her separation anxiety is at a peak. Never wants me to drop her at school or leave her period....even to go into another room at home. She makes me late for work sometimes. I hate to see her have a meltdown every time we have to separate. And I hate sneaking out when she gets distracted because it makes it worst. But it’s the only way I can move along. Looking for answers/help.....!!

Desparately Need Help For My Son
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Help! I am the parent of a 10yr old boy, Chris. Chris has struggled with severe depression and anti-socialism. Although he has an IEP he's not getting any help at school. He can't read. Doesn't know his ABC's. Nor can he write his full name. Because the school finds it easier to just promote him grade to grade than address his needs, Chris's anti-social behavior, depression, anxiety, emotional well-being is at crisis level. I live in Arizona. Apparently there just isn't enough doctors to… read more
