My name is Faith, I am new to this group, I have a 5 year old ASD child, I am a single mother my son was just diagnosed in December, I am still learning all the resources, i have know one to talk to about the struggles of every day life with my son, I have no friends who have autistic children, I feel very alone in this. I'm a single mother, living on my own, and am having trouble keeping my fulltime job and went through all in home daycare and daycare centers in my town. My daughter's school district can only drop her off to an in-town address, but over the years she tried multiple daycares for aftercare and I have called all the rest, but when they here me say autism, they say they dont have the staff. Any suggestions or anyone else that relates?

My son is 13 and has Asperger's. We will be moving to NJ in the next few months and can live in northern NJ down to Bridgewater. We are very concerned about finding a supportive school district and community. Any feedback re: experiences with the districts in these areas, particularyl with kids who have Asperger's, would be very helpful to us in our research. Thank you!

Does anyone have any experience with either The Broach School or the Florida Autism Charter School of Excellence (FACE)?
Both are in Tampa. We may be moving there, and my son will be 12 and is high-functioning.

Good morning, I posted my question a few weeks ago and received great positive feedback which I used; however the ABA teacher is still leaving 30 minutes early every day. As suggested by others on this site, I spoke to the teacher and asked her to maybe add a extra goal to his program because we had sufficient time. Im looking for a developmental eye doctor that conducts vision therapy for toddlers on the spectrum in san diego.
Also any feedback from parents who have tried vision therapy for their child. Is it helpful? How long did the therapy last?

I was just wondering how old your little ones were when they started talking in sentences and more conversational rather than just requesting?

At the moment my 4 year old can say " I want (noun) " ( mostly foods haha) "It is (noun or verb) and label things, know his colours ( aussie spelling haha), can count to 10 most times etc, so just basic things but not really any conversation.

My daughter is 6 years old. Her school system requires us to give her the last vaccine DTAP and tetanus as last shot. I noticed she do not do well in exam after that, her mode is not good and somehow she is not doing well as her focus is really bad. Anyone knows if there is a link between this cavvine and autism?
