My granddaughter is 8 and when she started in 1st grade she had many issues which we knew she would. My nephew punished her and it never seemed to help. She would do the same thing again. Now that she has been diagnosed with ASD he has stopped all punishment saying that it doesn't help. My concern s are no consequences for actions and her younger brother who sees she gets away with things and he doesn't. Any thoughts?

Does anyone know of a good pediatrician familiar with working with autistic kids and their needs in or around the central Connecticut area?
Anyone here on CDC+ program or know about it? How is this different than apd - med waiver?
Does anyone know or is anyone an Occupational Therapist that can provide services in-home [Bolingbrook, IL]. The current group I go to is not working out too well and I wanted to see if there are any in-home therapists available in my area.

Does anyone feel that their kids are on medicine that they could do better if they weren't on it. I told my pediatric doctor that I wanted my son weaned off his concerta and he Lowered it to 18mg and he still doing wonderfully in school. He will be going to the third grade this year
