Difficulty At Bath Time
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

I'm having some difficulty with my 5 year old son at bath time. When I start the water he starts to cry and begs not to take a bath. If he's in another room he will run in and drag me out closing the door of the bathroom behind him. I've tried visual schedule and talking to him letting him know that it will be bath time later. Once he is in the bath he fine and relaxes but getting him in is the problem. He's limited verbally but so far hasn't demonstrated discomfort, he loves the pool but cries… read more

A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

School Won't Allow Days Off For Therapies?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My 4-year old son with HFA had just started special Ed December 2014. He goes there's Mon to Fri 7:45 to 10:45 am. To give him opportunity to mingle with regular kids, I enrolled him in regular daycare from 11 to 3. Starting January, I have contracted through my private insurance ABA 8:30 to 12:00, ST 12:30 to 1:00 and OT 1:00 to 2:00 on Thursdays and Fridays. These are the only openings that these therapies have so I am willing to take them. I asked the school if he would be allowed to attend… read more

A MyAutismTeam Member

No Jackie, the ABA people here don't come to the school. And my son's school schedule is only from 7:45 am to 10:45 am. His ABA takes longer than that.

A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My son is currently four-years old and has been in a special education preschool for two. They told me (by law) they have to enroll him into a mainstream school to start kindergarten next year because his birthday falls before July. I am going to find a church to put him in a few days a week that has a low ratio. I am very concerned about starting him in kindergarten next year. He already has behavioral and social issues in his current classroom. I was thinking of enrolling him at Prairie… read more

Does Anyone Have A Weighted Blanket In Great Condition That They No Longer Need & Would Like To Sell
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

I'm looking for a small weighted blanket that you are done using that is in good condition & you would like to sell. The weight needs to be 2 to 3 lbs & cotton material for breatheability. My 2 yr old can't sleep through the night. Since these blankets are so expensive & I don't know if he will like it I'm hoping to find someone who wants to sell theirs. Thanks.

A MyAutismTeam Member

The ones by mosaic are very affordable and come in different sizes. I had a small one for my son in my choice of the fabrics they offered for $100. It is large enough for a twin bed. Everyone has… read more
