I know I'm reaching here, but there are just so many traits of autism that my son doesn't exhibit. He doesn't line anything up, has no problems with noises or crowds, very affectionate with lots of people, doesn't toe walk, doesn't cover ears or flap, loves climbing everywhere, eats a huge variety of foods
He is speech delayed, although he does have a few words.

can anyone help me? my son behavior is like he is on over drive he crawls, runs away from me when we try to get him dress or even if we want to work with him. if he has to sit for.long peroid of time when he doesnt want to he tell us he has to go potty. How can i get his behavior under control? We can not even go out on outtings. please help.

Has anyone here tried a "typical" preschool with a 1:1 ABA facilitator for their child with autism?

Has anyone ever experienced their child having or seeming to have psychosis or episodes where their child just seems completely out of touch with reality or in their own world? This happened to my daughter today at school...she didn't come in from recess and it took the team nearly an hour trying before we got the call. she was in her own world and saying that animals were talking to her (she was conversing with the imaginary animals.) My son was just diagnosed with mild-moderate autism and language disorder in September. There are still many questions and things that he does not understand. The psychologist also said that he has borderline intelligence. He said that this is not for sure and should be retested in 3 years. My son also was not to into doing the IQ test (even though the psychologist did not write this on the report). If your child is pretty high functioning and doesn't have a lot of obvious behavior issues, have you considered not doing all the therapy? My child is almost two. Everywhere I look, it says "get him in intensive therapy now!!!!"
