Our granddaughter Bella (5) has really been having major meltdowns. How do we know if this is because she is 5 & just throwing a fit cus shes not happy with something, or if it is part of her Autism showing its ugly head? Also- she has come up with the strangest *scared* ideas, & also scared dreams. The other day she wouldn't walk on the floor cus it scares her & its going to get her. The same thing with her pet dog, snakes (?), & other odd things. Is this normal? She is noise sensitive & goes… read more

My son is really wanting a puppy. We have an old dog, and I was waiting until he passes on to doggy heaven to get puppies (I have twins - so I would have to get 2). How helpful is having a pup to a child with Asperger's and SPD?
It depends on the ASD child. My son only likes certain pups/dogs. We already had the dog when my son was born and by the age of 3 my son decided he didn't like the dog touching him. However, he loves… read more
In August, we started noticing that my 4 year old son (will turn 5 in less than a week) was having staring spells. Usually everyday, multiple times a day. He never did this before.
Around 3 weeks ago, I stopped giving my son these vitamins. Around this same time the staring spells slowed down. I can not say for sure that they have stopped completely but they have for sure been happening way less. He just started a new school (Head Start - autism class) and his teacher has barely noticed any… read more

I can't seem to find services for my HFA child. He has Medicaid only and is too old for the autism waiver. Behavioral services are Despertly needed. Tri county metro detriot are the areas I can travel in. I referrer northern Macomb or Oakland.
If you had it for the Child when they were young, it should have carried over. If it did not, it could be because of the Level of Autism that the child has.
I really need more information first.
Hi guys. I would like to educate myself about Gluten Free diets for our kiddos. If you have switched your asd child into Gluten Free diet, What kind of changes did you observe? I was debating on trying this for my 6 yr old son, but would love to hear some reviews. (I'm not ashamed for educating myself) lol Thank you all <33
When gluten free was "the thing" years ago I tried it. The food was nasty and disgusting. A few years ago my daughter asked me to put her brother on a gluten free diet. Now many upper end grocery… read more
I have a 4yr old son. He's currently enrolled in preschool. He loves letters and numbers and knows all the letters of the Alphabet both uppercase and lowercase. He also can read and count to 100. Makes very good eye contact. Follows direction and plays really well with 5yr old sister and 4yr old cousin. He is very friendly. However, when he's at preschool, he does play with the kids but does not talk to them. He talks at home. He screams REALLY loudly when he doesn't get his way/or told no. Even… read more
